Designing products for the long run — on screens and on trails

  1. Evernote — The best part is that it’s in sync on 3 devices for an account — Phone, Macbook and my iMac. I may come across a quote or might make one in the middle of the night, it goes straight there. I can even scribble and save my handwritten note.
  2. Pocket — I read a lot. Always have a list of URLs to paste somewhere for later usage. I pocket it for offline usage. Make sure you pull to refresh the pocket app whenever you are connected to a network.
  3. IFTTT– Facilitates that all my apps and devices talking to each other. I might bookmark an article on medium, that goes to my inbox. It can save medium stories I recommend to Pocket it. It can push medium articles to my kindle.
  4. Trello– Be it a bucket list for a lifetime or tracking progress of my hobbies or professional career, there’s a card for every task I do or plan to do with a due date and estimate on it.
  5. Medium– Be it my admirations from my mentors, inspirations or the thoughts running on my mind which can be shared, all go here on medium. I can’t put this in words how much I love this platform for its simplicity.
  6. Amazon Kindle– My best friend I can take on any long journey, where I can just be myself minding my own business. Do not provide me with food or the internet, but with my kindle, I am live happily until the battery drains. The only thing I will as you is for the Wifi access to download more ebooks.
  7. Cure.fit — I swear by these apps. I love working out and hence am a cult fanatic. I can travel anywhere in the city just to attend the class of my favourite instructors. I wake up at 4:30 am to visit Cult Outdoors at 6:00 am. Now you know me! Yulu — Cycling is an old flame. One can never forget their skills and love to cycle around Cubbon park in the lush greenery. The best part is to scan and get going. It just costs a penny to load your account!
  8. Ludo King and Quizup – Ludo King helps me play a game with my family who is away. Gives me the emotional connect plus its fun. Quizup has quizzes on merely anything on earth. Matches you to a player online to play the games. In the end, ranks you based on the score.
  9. In shorts-Read in 60 words and swipe up and it never ends. The thirst for reading more news is never quenched. I am a big fan after they have thoughts or quotes of the day appearing after every ten articles. Flipboard is clean, crisp. Flip the pages on the mobile to the never-ending reads based on any category be it India or news around the world.
  10. Google Duo, Google Maps, Google Pay — Duo for video calls with friends no matter where they are, Maps for both known and unknown destinations, parking areas, and the time taken for the same. All monetary transactions via Pay within a blink of an eye for security and to earn on scratch cards.
  11. Splitwise– Living with roommates, make you share basic expenses. Also during treks, we create a group to note the expenses paid. It really makes it less awkward while we settle the bills since the app itself send reminder emails plus is integrated with payment gateways.
