Designing products for the long run — on screens and on trails

We’ve all learned that food, clothing, and shelter, (internet — the latest addition) are basic human needs. Having a roof over your head is bliss, no matter whether the financial influencers may deny that renting is better than owning one.

  • Coming to your comfortable space after a long day is priceless.
  • Those long showers after a long run/swim/cycle are healing.
  • The memories with friends sitting on the balcony are so therapeutic
  • Those card games we played sitting in the hall on the floor rather than those fancy sofas, crying out for losing the game is also such a win when you look back.
  • The swing is another favourite place of mine — the solitude of reading/re-reading a book, and my sips of whey protein while swinging post my workouts.
  • The bookshelf is something I dream of since my school days. I’m glad it turned out exactly like how my ten yrs old self-imagined it to be.

Your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love” — Nate Berkus

The best home organizing mantra I have learned is — “A place for everything. Everything in its place”

  • Many told me that one day I gotta move to my husband’s place, so why invest in a house? Renting is the smartest way to real estate not living in, prices might drop even more post-pandemic, wait & watch, you have no value for money, hence you are putting all your savings into materialistic things, yet I gave no heed. The real estate had crashed during covid first wave of covid! As an investor, what more could I ask? And, I’m glad I listened to my heart.
  • The kitchen beams bright yellow as it brings happiness & health which money can’t buy. It always brings me joy as I step in & doesn’t feel like a chore.
  • The room is my paradise. The vision board with pictures of my dreams & ambitions, the fairy lights, the study table which transforms me into a different world, & of course the bed & the comforters which I upgraded which makes me feel like a princess after my rehearsals — what more can I ask for?
  • The wardrobes remind me of my snow-white fairy tales, the planetarium roof, the glimpses of unicorn obsession in every corner of the house, the carpet grass which keeps me grounded, the wall of medals which I call the wall of fame- are so closer of my heart.
  • With the right partner, you will eventually turn your house into a /home.
  • I wish every girl works on her dreams & turns them into a reality by ignoring the naysayers. Some may call you too proud, take it as a compliment & move on to the next venture. The right man will know to break stereotypes & celebrate your wins.
  • I never fail to fall in love with my little Nest, my dream home turned real.

P.S. I hope this article inspires at least one person to go against society & gender bias to live life on your own terms & trust in your instincts.
