Prathima's Miles & Milestones

Every person will find someone adorable or get attracted to someone they admire in their lives.

I came across this someone special on a hectic day amidst all my unfinished tasks which was close to due.

I had been multitasking with drafting emails, communicating with my team over slack verifying the checklist items, handling client calls over my Skype and juggling among various other projects at work.

I suddenly sense someone is standing beside my cubicle and observing me! I turned in a flash of a second and guess who! Its a guy who barely speaks to anybody in the team is smiling at my plight!

I raised my eyebrows as I was surprised to see him and asked if he had any doubts in the requirements. He nodded his head and smiled yet again. My heart skipped a beat even amidst the work pressure as he looked damn cute while nodding and I quickly and asked him – “Is there anything I can help you with”?

He said he has done all the modifications suggested by the clients which I just conveyed over the Slack channel. I was totally overwhelmed and said — “Are you serious? I was surprised and had my eyes wide open! “Let me check the Pull request I said and looked at my iMac!”.

I could not control the anxiety and was curiously scrolling if he had missed any point. Everything seemed pretty good! I took a deep breathe and conveyed my thanks to him by saying — “ You saved my day!”.

He was observing me from the past few minutes and just said — “I like you wide eyes. They are so expressive!”. I din’t know how to react and just giggled with a response“Thank you”. In my mind, I was jumping in joy as I always had a secret crush on this guy and finally received his attention.

I had to get back to reality with sending the Release notes for the Production release to the clients as the tasks were complete. He sat beside me and helped me speed up and on the tap of the “Send” button in the email, he uttered these words -“Would you like to join me for a cup of coffee?”

I could not say no to him as he helped me save my hours of work. I agreed immediately and we went to a cosy coffee house which was not crowded. We had a nice conversation enjoying every sip of the coffee. I felt so relaxed as we started walking in the streets away from the coffee shop where he held my hand. I gazed at him and smiled. I felt the warmth and felt comfortable in the crowd. And then he whispered those magical words in my ears pulling me closer to him. I was on top of the world as someone I had a crush had approached me! Yet, I just smiled and blushed moving my hair from my face 🙂 He drove me back home safely and played my favourite music while driving. There was no talking as we were engrossed in the music. It was a lovely evening which I could hardly ever imagine!

All I would say is that — It doesn’t matter how you look, what your weight is or how much make-up you put on, But the right guy will love you for what you are. And keep waiting for the right guy to go down his knees in front of you (wink).
